Anisha and Bhav’s London wedding celebrations

Anisha and Bhav’s wedding event took place over the summer and I have to admit, it was one of my most memorable weddings to photograph.

I got to know Anisha and Bhav the year before having photographed Anisha’s cousins wedding so I was looking forward to seeing many familiar faces once again. Before the wedding, I found out that I knew a lot of Bhav’s family too and that we’re somewhat distantly connected/related so the pressure was on!

The Hindu wedding took place at Anisha’s family home and I love the idea of a home wedding, it was so personal and the weather was on our side. Anisha’s dad built the Mandap where the ceremony took place and it was the perfect setting for such an intimate event.

The Hindu wedding celebrations started with Bhav’s and his family arriving, waking up the neighbourhood! His entrance was lively as anything and when both families met, the lively-ness went up a notch! I have to admit, the Milni was so much fun to capture, pretty much all family members got involved and it set the tone for the rest of the celebrations. Both sides are equally crazy and up for a good time.

The Hindu vedic ceremony was perfectly conducted by Vasudev Mehta and his ceremony was on point, perfect explanation of the different rituals and the right level of enjoyment for everyone to enjoy. The wedding was full of fun emotion as expected and you can see how close the families are. I loved capturing Anisha and Bhav’s fun nature on the day and their personalities really show in the photographs.

The following week, Anisha and Bhav had their civil wedding and reception party at The Landmark hotel in London and it’s a stunning location for any wedding event.

I have to admit, I was really nervous on the day. During the week, I sent Anisha and Bhav some teasers from the Hindu wedding and the response was insane, the pressure was on to deliver as good, or even better than I did the week before and knowing some of my family would be there, meant I wanted to do that bit ‘better’

I took the day in my stride and loved capturing the elegance of the day, beautiful moments, lots of smiles, hugs, capturing interactions between loved ones, this is what capturing a wedding day is all about.

The final event was the reception party and I did not know how WILD and energetic it would be! DJ Kabir (and Chris Williams, the saxophonist) did an incredible job keeping everyone on the dancefloor. I’ve not seen a dancefloor so rammed throughout the evening. Even after the first set of dancing had finished (for dinner), the dancing started up again within twenty minutes, and then the dancefloor was packed out, I barely had time to enjoy a glass of wine and then was back on the dancefloor! It’s definitely a party that I’ll remember and the interactions documented will be cherished for life!

Anisha and Bhav, it’s been a joy getting to know you both, and your loved ones. The photographs are a true reflection of yours (and your families) personalities and I’ll always have fond memories of your wedding events. THANK YOU for letting me be a part of your events and I Genuinely felt like one of the family.

Much love to you both
